Grading Scheme

The grading system is aimed to help a student's progression and understanding of fencing with;

Structured Learning Path

Provides a clear and structured way for students to gain new skills, ensuring they master fundamental techniques.  It helps students focus on a particular skill.

Motivation and Goal setting

Gives students tangible goals, which helps keep them motivated.  Pursuing the next grade encourages dedication and sustained effort in their approach to training

Skill recognition

The grading system and the associated certificate and ribbons are a way to recognise the students effort.  It represents time, effort and commitment to training.

Initally aimed at the intermedite class, we will roll out the assessment opportunities to other interested fencers.

Grading is optional.

Grading exams will be held once a term if sufficient numbers.
